The best way to do it is just to get up in front of a crowd and speak! I was a very shy person in high school. I decided to enter teaching as a profession- which means I would have to get up in front of a crowd and talk.

That was pretty scarey. I had a speech class and we had to give short speeches on various topics- it really helped me overcome my shyness and learn to speak. Here are key points to start with: 1) Start with a small audience.

You don't want to start out with a large, intimidating crowd. Instead start with no more than twenty or thirty people. It may be better to start with people you know- but if this will make you self-concious, it may be better to start with total strangers.

Which ever you are more comfortable with, that is what is best for you. 2) Start with a topic you know well. Make it something you know well and are interested in.

This will help you with the ease of what you are saying. If you get stuck, it should be easy to find what to say next. You will also come across better to your audience if you are speaking about something you care about.3) Prepare what you will say in advance.

Even when you know the topic, start with an outline of key points to cover. You don't want to have your speech written out word for word, but you will want enough preparation so that you know what you want to touch on to convey to your audience.4) Practice what you are going to say in advance. Say it in front of a mirror or in your room alone behind a locked door.

You may try practicing the speech with a friend who is willing to listen. Anything for a little practice before you get up before the crowd. 5) Don't get stuck on flubs.

If you misspeak, a quick correction is all that is necessary. People generally know what you are trying to say and only need to hear a brief correction to keep the conversation on track rather a long dissertation on what you were trying to say- which only distracts from the point you are trying to make. I used to hate speaking in public... I am assuming your question means speaking in public But when I was in college, I had a required speech course. In this course, all students were given a topic nearly each class, and we had to spontaneously respond to the topic in front of the class. Or, sometimes we were given a question to prepare in order to speak to the class.

I found this nerve-wracking, but it taught me how to speak in public. When I had to prepare, my teacher always suggested looking at myself in the mirror and watching myself first as I read the answer, and then as I gave the answer without any papers. This was really hard to do at first but it helped.

Then I also did a rather crazy thing. Our dog sometimes liked to be petted while I talked to him So, I often practiced my little public talks by giving them to the dog. Often that helped the most, for the dog was not judgmental.

Then, last but not least, the more courses I took - especially English and Philosophy (which I really didn't like, but am so happy I took), the more books I read, the more newspapers and magazines I read, gave me more information, so I had more and more vocabulary, and more and more interesting things to speak about as well as more interesting ways to present them. So, the real answer to your question is: practice, practice, practice - study, study, study - and learn to express yourself freely with a range of different vocabulary. You can really do it if you try hard, but it doesn't happen overnight.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
