I had just flipped the morning news when the event began to unfold. Short version of long story - I sat transfixed and feeling helpless in front of the TV for 15 solid hours. When I went to bed, I vowed I would do something about it.
I created a 50 / 50 drawing and raised $2000.00 to send to the Widows and Orphans of NYC Police & Firefighters Fund.
Besides the obvious Tower Attacks there were the other attacks ... that brought about uncertainty of the extent of the first attack on US soil. I was nervous about that. Later we found out other attacks that day were prevented.
Most vivid memory was burning towers on a otherwise beautiful day. And the thought of hundreds of people dying that were doing nothing more than being at work.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
