I need to upgrade my #Citrix licensing server and move to a new server - anyone have any tips/stories of woe etc?

The latest release of Citrix License Server 11.6.1 build 10007 does not integrate with Active Directory, LDAP, or NTLM so all the console management has to be done locally with non-AD account logons. If this is a problem you can install the previous release (build 9020), but it will only be supported until Q1 2011. You can download either from here: citrix.com/English/ss/downloads/details.... I'd suggest installing Citrix License Server on a dedicated server, but that means you'll use a Windows Server License.

If you don't want to burn a Windows Server License, Citrix has created a Virtual Appliance for Citrix License Server (build 10007) that you can put on a XenServer. It's only in Beta and scheduled for release in the next week or so. Switching to a new license server if pretty straight forward.

After you get your server's base OS installed and configured, install the Citrix License Server. The only tricky part is reallocating the license. This article will show you how to do that: http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX118324 After the license is installed you can change the license server in the farm via the management console, but I'd suggest testing it with a test server to make sure it will issue a license before switching over your entire production farm.

After you switch your farm to the new server, keep an eye on the event logs and keep the old server available for a week or two in case you need to point the farm back to it while you work out any issues. You'll also want to keep an eye on your farm servers events logs for any license errors after the switch. Break a leg.

For upgrade your licensing server you can find the information in this link. Server management.

Ur age at least 23 years old,U must have license meet certain prerequisites. Server management.

Upgrading a Citrix license server is easy and I have never had any problems doing an upgrade.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
