I now have cable tv. Will a new rooftop antenna connect to the existing coax from cable TV when I drop cable service? I am going to drop cable TV service when it all goes to DTV in Feb.
We are paying over $100 per month for commercials and reruns on 500 channels. I'd rather get the same junk broadcast to my home for free, just like it used to be. I am tired of paying for the same crap I used to "channel flip" to get away from.
I want to buy a new antenna and connect it to the existing coaxial cables that come in to my home. Will this work? Asked by higgy 35 months ago Similar questions: cable tv rooftop antenna connect existing coax TV drop service Entertainment > Television.

Connect the coax from the antenna directly to the TV set or to the converter box (if you have one). Are you asking if you can use the coax cable coming into your house that was installed by the cable company? If so it can get complicated.
Bringing the antenna coax all the way to the TV set is the simpler solution and it preserves the signal better. But pulling the coax into the house could be a problem that might encourage you to use the existing coax. If the cable company coax has a male connector just outside your house you could connect the antenna coax to it with a double ended female coupler.
If there is no male connector you can cut the coax and install one. But this requires a little electrical skill; it can be done by an amateur. But do not attempt to splice them together.
You need a coupler to attach the two coax together. Having too much cable or too many connections can degrade signal quality. Any outdoor connectors need to be protected from weather and puppies.
When you buy the antenna ask questions about connectors and couplers and how to install them. 1 Absolutely YES! Another thing to ponder because you have the internet: Hooking a line from computer to Tv if it has the input plug. Then, on the internet are main line programming and movies for free.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
