I presently have vertical blinds in my living room that hang just below the window I would like to hang draperies also?

Vertical blinds are out. Use shades. Hang curtains all the way to the floor.

If you don't want to use shades you can also use shears .

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
