Yikes, not supposed to do that. If so, take a utility knife and cut away the sealant, be careful not to cut yourself. Once the window is open use the knife to remove the rest of the sealant.

Be careful not to gouge the wood. Use wood filler to fix any imperfections, sand it, and then repaint the window and casings.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
