It's a small city, just like other small cities...people do what people do everywhere...it would depend on the kind of work you're qualified for, but there are lots of colleges and universities, law firms galore, medical offices/hospitals, etc. There doesn't have to be skyscrapers for there to be commerce and jobs. Allentown is a bigger area, but it's no New York City. Some people from the area do travel to NYC or other places to work, but most commonly, people find work locally, as in most other communities.
As far as what to do for fun: we have skiing, movies, theaters, plenty of nightclubs with live music and dancing, civic organizations, and tons of outdoor activities like hiking, biking, some beautiful parks--what are you looking for?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
