First we would need to know exactly what snapped. Did the string break near one end? Did some part of the violin break?
Did the string merely come out of either the peg or the tailpiece? If your dad gets mad send him here and we'll tell him that those cheap violins break all the time, especially if they've been sitting around for a while. It would be unusual to pick up a cheap violin that had been sitting around and NOT have something break.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
