I won $2000 to spend on an Energy Star appliance, thanks energizer bunny! Anybody with a tankless water heater opinion? It sounds like a good money saver and a space saver too.
Anybody have one, want to recommend a brand, gotchas to watch out for during installation? Inside or outside install? Asked by OlyPolly 34 months ago Similar questions: won $2000 spend Energy Star appliance energizer bunny tankless water heater opinion Home > Home Improvement.

1 These are definitely efficient and economical units. Used them extensively in the past. One caveat, though.....they're not so good for large families or a high demand situation.
But for a one or two soul household they are great and eco-friendly. I personally would go for the inside install if you have room (the units I've seen are rather small), but that's coming form a Colorado experience and you don't want to be outside in January trying to fix anything; that's why I live in California now. Just be sure, regardless of brand, to buy from a reputable dealer that will back up the unit, Lowe's, Sears or whomever.
Good luck.

OlyPolly replied to post #1: 2 Just me and one or two foster kids. I do have an extra deep bath tub and you can't do two baths back to back with my water heater now. I just found out that I can get a $500 rebate from the power company for installing one...getting more and more attractive!

3 I'm currently looking into them, too. I'd just read that they may not be the best option for people who live in warmer climates because of the way they work, which bums me out because I really want one--one reason being that my place is so small & the water heater takes up so much room. I dunno, guess I have to do a bit more research.
I was looking at this nonprofit gov't website, figuring they might be a bit more impartial, since they're not trying to sell me one. In case you're interested:apps1.eere.energy.gov/consumer/your_home... .

4 A tankless water heater can provide unlimited hot water as long as it is operating within its capacity. Tankless water heaters range in price from $200 for a small under-sink unit up to $1200 for a gas-fired unit that delivers 5 gallons per minute. Typically, the more hot water the unit produces, the higher it will cost.In most cases, electric tankless water heaters will cost more to operate than gas tankless water heaters.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
