I have two dogs and a cat that thinks he's a dog. I have a Jack Russell Terrier (Ginny, short for Virginia, she's the one in the avatar), a Rat Terrier (Ody, short for Odysseus), and a gray fluffy cat named Storm. First of all I am a dog person (my wife had the cat when we started dating), there is just something so great about having something at the door when you get home that's always happy to see you.
Ginny (the JRT) is a daddy's girl. She always curls up with me in the recliner, or in the bed if I let them sleep with me. She never, ever gives up on anything.
Whether it's tug-of-war, chasing a hedgehog around the yard, or playing fetch, she never gives up. We have had 1+ hour matches of tug-a-war where I just hold it and she keeps pulling and shaking it to win. I think that's what I love most about her is her give all 100% all the time.
Ginny also has a mind of her own. She pretty much does as she pleases when she pleases. This made training her very difficult, I had to make her think that she wanted to learn what she was being taught.
Ody is a different story. There is little doubt that Ginny is the Alpha dog between them, so it seems like Ody is there for comic relief. Ody is the lover and the mommy's boy.
He is always curled up as close to my wife as he can get. He just does whatever you ask him to do and you can tell he's happy to do it. He carried around this stuffed bone that is easily the length of him everywhere he goes. It's so cute.
He loves giving hi fives! I love Ody because he makes me laugh all the time. You never know what he's going to do to get your attention.
I think I have learned to just go with the flow and enjoy life from Ody. You can tell that he is so happy regardless of what he's doing, and I admire that.My cat thinks he's a dog. He carries himself like a cat but that's about all.
He comes when he's called by name, he drink out of the dogs water dish even though he has his own and he meets us at the door everyday right next to the dogs. He is unlike every cat I have ever met because he loves attention. Not just attention when he wants it but anytime you want to give it.
All in all he is a really cool cat. From Storm I learned not to leave water sitting by my side of the bed. I shooed him off the counter last week and he promptly went to my nightstand and literally slapped the water glass onto my pillow.
My wife was in there folding laundry and saw him do it. Sources: Everyday life.
I have a female jack russel dognamed Angie! I love my dog because she kind and constantly wants attention. She follow me everywhere and might sleep with me.
I love playing with her, petting her, and sometimes grooming her. I do find it great that she seems to get along so well with family and friends. Since I love Angie and read your question, I thought I would look up why others might love their pets and it turns out that there are many sites on why people love their pets: petoftheday.com/why ultimutt.com/bones.asp In that second link, Weela - A Community Hero by Ruth Gordon reads that The American Pit Bull is often called "the most courageous animal ever born." .
Not courageous, but definitely lovable Our dog has an endearing habit. I'm always the first one up each morning, so I let her out to the backyard and give her breakfast. She then sits by me while I check email and usually Askville before getting everyone else up for the day.As soon as I stand up from he computer, she knows it's time to get everyone else up, so she races down the hallway ahead of me to wake up my kids.
Getting my kids up, especially my son, is so much easier now that their dog gives them lovin' to wake up. She is always so patient until she knows it's time, and then she's so excited. It's like she's been waiting all night just to get to see them again. I love watching them together every morning.
I love my dog. He is not only cute; he is so funny. Brutus is a minpin.
We got him 3 months ago from an animal shelter. He was in a house with 14 other minpins. He is extremely attached to my husband.
I love to watch them play. Brutus will get a spark of energy and start running through our house. He will make 5-10 laps as hard as he can before he quits.
He tucks his bobbed off tail and rear end in and flys. My husband is there encouraging him. Brutus also is a good guard dog.My mother-in-law comes by often.
Each time she does, he barks like he's never seen her. It takes a good 30-45 minutes for him to stop barking. When we have to go somewhere, he has to be placed in a carrier because he tears up our house if he's not.
Lately, he hides from my husband outside when he knows it is time for us to go.
1 Sounds like a fun bunch. Whenever I used to feed my dogs and cats; the cats ate dog food and the dogs ate cat food. Had to post the kids on the back porch with the cats and me on the front porch with the dogs to make sure they ate what they were supposed to eat.
When they were full; all lay down in the sun and had a nap. My husband couldn't decide which was funnier; watching them trying to eat each others food or using each other for pillows.

" "Many people adore their pets, I know! Have you ever had a pet you truly didn't like? " "Should people be allowed to have tigers and other wild animals as pets?
" "Do they have Kindles for pets?" "spoiled pets" "pets can be so funny.
What is it about us that makes us continue to get pets, knowing that we will outlive them and ...
PETS ARE SO SMART AND FUNNY... an African Gray parrot flew out of his cage .. got lost & did exactly what he was taught.
Many people adore their pets, I know! Have you ever had a pet you truly didn't like?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
