If humans become able to colonize all the planets within our own solar system, should we? Why or why not?

Human evolution and adaptation to conditions and the environment on Earth has been going on for millions of years, and still we are not yet able to fully overcome certain biological hurdles Mother Nature throws our way sometimes. Be it hurricanes, earthquakes, chronic illnesses, or our bodies’ constant battles with the microbial world (many of which are lost when people die from infectious diseases caused by bacterial, fungal, or viral infections), we humans are very vulnerable beings and not cut out to master immediate adaptations to strange or unknown (to our bodies) environments. Therefore, I do not think we should nor would we be able to colonize the neighboring planets in our solar system any time soon.

Earth has the advantage to sustain life because it is just the right distance from the sun and can thus maintain an atmosphere in which plant life can thrive and oceans can exist without drying out. Without the right temperature, sun light, oxygen from plants, water, and other vital factors, life cannot exist. None of the other planets have all these necessary conditions fulfilled and so life is not possible on the other planets.

But if we could in some way in the future, should we? Well, I guess that would depend entirely on the conditions existing at that time on Earth. Would we be able to find a cleaner/healthier/more beneficial living environment on one of the other planets?

Could we find ourselves able to start from scratch and live without so many of the gimmicks that fill up our technologically advanced lives right now? Would I move to another planet if it were possible? No, I simply have too much vested here on Earth, and even though the living conditions are declining every few years, I think during my time on Earth, I will be able to lead a somewhat healthy, productive, and enjoyable life right here on our very own planet.

I don't support the idea. I feel humanity needs to learn to use a planet without destroying it before we have earned the right to another planet. In reality what we have done is destroyed this world, realized it and now are attempting to hop planets rather than fix the mess we've created.

I don't feel our species deserves to continue if we are no better than that.

No, we need to be more concerned with the issues we have here on earth first. I think it makes since to try to find new untapped resources in space, but as far as people being outsourced no. I think we are spending way to much money on space exploration now.

Let's take care of earth first before we start colonizing other planets.

My point of view, it most likely improbable that we will make a space shuttle large enough to support a small colony and if we do than the distances between planets would require a large of amount of supplies/fuel. Most planets would either freeze or melt the shuttle before it touched the surface and planets with more hospitable weather and atmosphere conditions like mars would have to be heavily injected by man made green house gases to start a chain reaction with mars' ice caps melting and releasing enough Co2 into the atmosphere to begin imitating the Earth's conditions but even this would take thousands or ten thousands of years to complete this chain reaction so most likely the human species will die before we are able to colonize.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
