That the plane will land is the only thing you can guarantee about a flight. Just because you can land a simulator doesn't mean you can count a landing you can walk away from when you try to land the real thing. You will need to have a CFI evaluate your performance and take over if it becomes a little too real for you to deal with As a private pilot the one thing I can tell you is that you'll be scared at how difficult it is to land a plane, (any plane) the first time with no training. It takes hours and hours of practice and dozens of landings to build up any bit of confidence.
Once you earn your wings, you'll use the simulator to stay sharp with your instruments and procedures. It doens't help at all with the actual 'feel' of the flight. A simulator can never simulate the workload that a pilot experiences during a real flight.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
