The Franklin Institute! www2.fi.edu/ is the site for the Franklin Institute, a fantastic science museum. I was able to visit in 1996 when I was 16 and it was miles better than the Boston Museum of Science, much as I love that place.
A good proportion of the exhibits were interactive. There is a model of a human heart that you can actually walk through. The Fels Planetarium was spectacular.
I remember going through so many rooms filled with so many different hands-on exhibits that they all blend together a bit, but the ones regarding magnets and centrifugal force still stand out in memory. There are new exhibits since '96 that I dearly wish I could see - maybe it's time for a road trip. Hmmm...Well, whether you pick the Franklin Institute or something else, enjoy your trip!
