Similar questions: join Air Force pretty guaranteed oversees.
No, depends on your job. No, it is not guaranteed at all. It will largely depend on your job.
Some jobs like Imagery Analysis and Space Systems Operations have very limited base choices, very few of which are overseas. Other jobs like Security Forces can go to basically any base that the Air Force controls, and they also deploy for 6 months to places like Iraq and Afghanistan, then are home for 6 months, then deploy again. Other jobs like crew chief and loadmaster (working on planes) both deploy very frequently.
When you enlist you’ll be able to choose from a list of bases that your job can go to and that will be your "dream sheet". The Air Force will use that to help determine where you are stationed, but it’s still always the needs of the Air Force first, so you may not be stationed where you want to be, but they at least try. Then there are jobs like Dental Tech and other jobs that very very rarely deploy at all, and if they do it’s on a volunteer basis.
I work in Space Systems Operations currently and the only way we really ever deploy is to volunteer for Force Protection duty, which is basically guarding local national workers while they work on base. That is why I am in Iraq currently, I volunteered for the assignment. I know people that have been in the Space field for 15 years though, and never deployed.

When you join the armed forces, you do so with the understanding that you will fight in any war we may be engaged in. There are many benefits offered as a "carrot" to join: education, insurance, travel, but the main purpose is to fight, if and when you are called on, and to go wherever they send you. It would be unwise of you to think otherwise..
No, I don't think so! I have good friends who have their children recently join the military branches. Of the three that have occurred in the last year, one is currently scheduled to be deployed in June.
The others have compelted basic training and are serving their duty here in the U.S. THe one being deployed is a marine and he waited over a year to be deployed.
1 No--and, if you do, it'll probably be in the Middle East somewhere, which I wouldn't wish on anybody. This user has been banned from Askville.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
