If one of your closest friends is gay and your mother is quite homophobic, how can one attempt to ingratiate one to the other?

It's not going to be easy, but fortunately they don't have to become great friends; they just have to get along. I would spend some time thinking about topics they both enjoy, and always try to steer the conversation in that direction. If you can find things that you know they both agree on, that would be even better.Do they both like a certain type of food?

If so, it would be great if you could manage to get it served at events they mutually attend as well.

Very very tough one I wouldn't initially tell her, let he begin to like your friend and see if she even notices. Then once it comes down to it, if she absolutely loves your friend, then changes her mind because they are gay...then maybe it will click in her mind of her judgement issues.

Show her the movie - "Guess who is coming to dinner" And tell her today's gay is yesterday's black and she might get it.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
