No. It means that the person in question has read the bible critically and objectively, and sees nothing in the Christian religion of lasting moral value. Several thousand people have become agnostics or atheists after reading the entire bible.
Well...I'm not sure what you mean by "a bad book", but I would argue that the Bible is definitely not "a bad book". It's not an enthralling novel, of course. It's not "a book that I just can't put down".
But there is not "one and only one" reason that a person might react to the Bible as you describe. There are several potential reasons. And, of course, there are many people (in modern times and historically) who reacted to reading the Bible in more or less the opposite way.
I myself became a born again Christian solely as a result of reading the Bible. SO: obviously, not all people react the same way after reading the Bible, and even people who do react in a particular way will not in all cases react that way for the very same reason!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
