A lot of revisionists love to marginalize the Treaty of Tripoli as irrelevant because they NEED the Treaty of Tripoli to become as meaningless as every other man-made religion that selective religious critics claim are not "real" religions because they need to defend and amplify their favorite religion over all others that "COMPETE" with their religion for adherents. That's why people who are unaware that atheism isn't a religion will bend over backwards to force their narrative into people's skulls, that atheism is a religion in their "opinion" not because it resembles anything tangible that requires any of the same components that a religious cult or group requires for admission into their exclusionary religious "club", but because if religious absolutists can successfully pigeon-hole atheism as a "religion" they can frame it as a religious belief that is comparatively "false" compared to their selective interpretations of truth within the context of "true religious dogma". By framing atheism as a "false religion" religious absolutists can double-label atheism for convenient opposition tactics that easily match their "Good/Evil" religious dichotomy.
Atheism exists in my opinion as a religious label that frames all non-believers into a narrow "anti-theism" category which is better served if an associative label is used that is religiously neutral vs. the current negative label that exists to label non-believers as being anti-status quo "religiously-correct" or atheist. Since people subscribe to such a large variety of atheism(s), it seems more prescient to avoid vague labels, (like atheist) that only serve to limit the scope of what a non-believer does believe in within the scope of reality vs. religious absolutists which define what they believe within the narrow confines of a man-made religious fantasy construct. Obviously we're dealing with entirely different concepts that exist either within the realms of knowable human knowledge using cogent perceptions of reality as opposed to defining reality through an obvious religious fantasy filter where reality does not matter, fantasy religious agenda is all that "really" matters!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
