To be honest, the only person I see in this role, at this moment is Bill Goldberg. I think he could be the best actor to play as Kratos if a God of War movie will come out soon. Bill Goldberg also played in Universal Soldier: The Return.
Since Kratos is a savage warrior I think this place must be filled by a ''scary'' actor. In my opinion Vin Diesel is a great actor but it's too ''soft'' for this role. But Bill Goldberg...hmmm...Take a look!
Regards, @vladis.I'm not sure he can act, but this guy, who featured at the Brazil game launch looks pretty impressive. The guy is unnamed, but does seem to fit the bill perfectly. Now, let's hope he can speak more than two words in a sentence, otherwise, it would become a 'silent' movie :).
I'm not too sure about his acting ability or screen presence, but he does indeed have the look and SIZE necessary for a truthful depiction of Kratos. I haven't seen anyone mentioned yet who couldn't fit those god kicking boots (minus the likes of Nick Cage etc.) and would seriously be pumped to see Mr. Butler done up in white, if he hasn't had enough of mythological Greece already! Do you think this post adds to the discussion?
Thanks for looking up the name for me...haven't gotten to it yet. Yeah, he definitely has the spot on look of Kratos, so hopefully he would be able to act the part as well. Like I said, if I were Mr. Jones' agent, I'd be all over the casting director for a God of War movie, cause whoever will play Kratos would become a household name.
When I first saw him in "Troy", my very first thought was, "Thats Kratos!". He's got the size, the muscle and the snarl lol. I did buy the Protector years ago, but somehow never watched it...so I will definitely make a not to do so.
We were talking about Gerard Butler because of 300, and I though he would make the perfect Mack Bolan, but if he buffed up enough, he could possibly pull off a decent Kratos as well. Thanks for the input! Do you think this post adds to the discussion?
Yea he is a big guy, but I don't think he really has the ability to act the way you would need for this movie. Honestly you are all correct, if done they need to get a big guy who can act but just hasnt been in alot of movies before. These guys are the best to hire because they are desperate to make a name for themselves and really try hard to do good.
But knowing hollywood they won't do that, they'll go with some big name like Vin Diesel or Dwayne Johnson, both of which would not be as bad of a choice as Gyllenhal as the Prince in POP...that was just stupid casting.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
