I have heard many stories about life as an Aussie... How I wish I were one! Sometimes, people ask me about my accent.. and they say are you an Aussie? I quickly reply, no, but I wish I were!

I'd have to get used to drinking cow's blood but.... The Masai in Africa look so handsome and free. There are tall, thin (apparently because of the climate in which they live, plus no McDonalds), beautiful people with little dependence on outside influences (at least for now). They live a natural, healthy lifestyle and appear to be at peace with themselves and the world..
I'd be British Since I was young I use to love watching the old British comedies on the Public Broadcasting channel. Not just their humor, but their whole way of life over there appeals to me. I've lived all over the US and gone from one end to the other, both north/south and east/west, yet I can think of no other place I would like to live next other then somewhere in England, maybe in an area like Coventry or Manchester.
I have watched the BBC for so long now I can understand the most strong English accents and terms they use that are different then Americans, even when no one else who's with me has any idea what they're saying. If I go to long watching it, I end up using some of the same terminology for things that they use and people don't know what I'm talking about. Some day I will take a trip over there, and maybe then I will know whether I am just a fish out of water here in the states, or if I was way off base and belong here in the ole' USA lol.
Either way I know I'll have a fun trip.
I would like to be Swedish I've always liked the look of Swedes and I admire their culture and beliefs. I would like to be Swedish if I couldn't be American. I do love being from the US though.

Full blooded Italian I have always admired Italian people...with their flashing brown eyes, thick dark hair...the way they can all voice their opinions, argue like crazy and still love each other to bits. I love the deep family ties...they way they can fight with each other, but, when the chips are down, they watch out for their own. The father rules the family...and the mother has learned to cook from generations before her...passing her traditions and recipes down to the next generation.
Another nationality I really admire are the Puerto Ricans. We have had friends for years...and everything they do is about 'family' and 'tradition'. They have so much respect for their 'elders'...and keep them in their homes, caring for them 'til the end.
Our friends built a home in a Florida community...as their children became adults, each child was helped into homeownership in that community...cousins, aunts, uncles..have all built or bought there...it's an amazing closeness of family. Why? Well, I guess it's because I have no dominant nationality...I'm a Heinz 57 variety...and, in my family, there were no special traditions, no secret family recipes...no special group to identify with...so I think that's why I admire those who have such strong family ties.
We were able to establish strong family ties and traditions with our kids, when they were younger...but, now that they've grown and relocated all over the map...I only have to cook up my 'specialties' when they come to visit. P.S. I've noticed a lot of interest in cats, dogs, and supernatural creatures.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
