If you could erase one Christmas or Hanukkah tradition from those repeated every year in your family, what would it be?

I personally came to hate sending Christmas cards...it was such a chore. So I stopped...and no one seems to have noticed. Asked by OlyPolly 49 months ago Similar questions: erase Christmas Hanukkah tradition repeated year family Society > Holidays.

Shopping for mom the day before Christmas My dad hates to shop. Really, really, really hates to shop. So every year my sister and I have to shop for my mom the day before Christmas.

Why the day before? Because that's the first day we both have time to go. Why go together?

Because that's what we've always done, even since my sister was old enough to drive basically. I think before that dad just dropped us at the store. As soon as we were even maybe old enough to do this, we've been doing it.

I wouldn't mind, and would even enjoy it, if it weren't always so last minute. Anyway, if I could erase the night before Christmas shopping tradition from my family, I would. (As long as mom still got gifts under the tree!

I don't want her left out totally! ) .

Going to church I don't believe in God, so going to church is pointless to me. I'd rather sleep instead, but since my girlfriend is Catholic I have to go for peace sake. It's just Christmas and Easter, so I can bear it..

The one tradition I would erase is.... Excess. And I suppose if you think about it excess is the one "tradition" that is common to all families around this time of the year. Everything's fine ...but the excess is just killing everyone.

Drinking, smoking, eating oooooh one could only hope that hangovers and upset stomachs can begin to become a memory of Christmas past....

" "What special Christmas family tradition does your family do in order to give to those less fortunate?" "Merry Christmas happy holidays to all good folks that I have come to know, peace of mind and heart in the new year ahead.

Please share with me how you celebrate your Christmas holidays and any particular traditions you and/or your family have.

There are 75 days left of this year! Are you ready for Christmas? What are you doing to prepare for the holidays?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
