In 1929 Harper's published a book called "If I Could Preach Just Once. " In it, various authors wrote persuasive essays on the topic they felt they would most like to give a sermon about. Contributors included Bertrand Russell, A.
Conan Doyle, G.K. Chesterton, Sheila Kaye-Smith, and others.(As you might surmise from the contributors, all topics were NOT religious in nature. ) If you could preach just once, what would you preach about? Asked by tabbycat 58 months ago Similar questions: preach topic Education & Reference.
I would preach about the nature of reality I believe people take life at face value far too easily. I'm not a religious person, but I'm convinced there's more going on to life than we imagine. I think our brains are limited in what they are able to perceive and we jump to conclusions about reality based on those limitations.
If man were able to think beyond his senses, he would perceive a world completely different from the one he believes he lives in. I would preach about the need to think beyond one's biological limiations and to try to understand that life is more (or at least different) from what we believe it to be. And because of that, our petty everyday concerns should not be the cause for the bad behavior we so often exhibit against each other. So basically, I'd preach that people need to think more and need to look beyond the end of their noses if they want to understand life and their role in it.

Why we want to be aware in life Because awareness is the foundation of all that you will engage with and do and want in life. If you are not aware, it all passes over you. You got to know.
If yo don't - then you can only follow someone else. And most are not to be trusted. Sources: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Awareness .
1 Wow! Where to begin! :DI think this is a great Q, tabbycat, but I can't answer cause there's no way I can narrow it down to just one topic.
Plus, I'm afraid of public speaking. :pWill be interesting to see what others say.

2 I'm not sure I could narrow it down to one topic, either, but I agree that it will be interesting to hear from those who can. I remember seeing that book years ago and being intrigued by the premise.

" "How long can a topic be?" "If you're asking your kids to exercise, then you better do it, too. Practice what you preach. " "What's the best answer you've ever seen on here (any topic) and why did you think it was the best?" "So what do you think of the new topic superpowers?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
