I think it would be a bad idea on one hand but a good idea on another. On the first hand, you'll never be poor and you'll always have the money for what you need and for what you want. On the second hand, you wouldnt know the value of a dollar, which is highly important.
You wouldnt work hard for your dollar because you wouldnt have too. You have the risk of someone wanting to steal your money even if they had their own which is greed by the way. The thing is, it has its good and bad if in the wrong hands, which is the human hands or anyone elses.

Would I have a job if I had a money tree... No! And Double NO! Why would I work for someone else who is getting rich off my barely above minimum wage labor.
I'd more than likely though, would do a lot of charity work, to beat the boredom, and see first hand exactly were the charities/organizations needed to be funded, and donate. Since, you stated no one would steal it, I wouldn't need to hire security, which would ease my mind greatly and put my mind to work for the better part of our entire nation. It would be so great...no more hunger, no more homelessness, funding for our scientists to find cures for our diseases, healthy foods, great animal shelters for all our homeless pets, no one would have to mug, steal from someone, education in all areas, everyone that asked or I knew about, wouldn't have to go without their medication, because of the expense. So much I could do with that little money tree!
Utopia, doesn't exist, but with that money tree, I'd sure make it as close to a Utopia as I could! No, I would not work in the since someone hired me and paid me.NO, no way! .
I would still have a job If I had a money tree I would still have a job. I'd find a job where I felt I was making an impact on the world. I would worry more about making the world a better place instead of trying to make more and climb the corporate ladder.
Think without a job you'd the days would be too boring. Would want something to do everyday, but still have the flexibility to create my own schedule.
Oh Yes I would definitely work. I just went through 3 months of unemployment. I felt like the most useless person on earth.
I found that I cannot not work. The difference that the money tree would make for me would be that I would do something that I truly enjoy doing and not work for anyone else. The money tree would allow me to sustain this even if it wasn't a capitalistic success.
I would always be happy then! .
I would not work out of the home I have two rental properties that I make money on and a lot of paper work for that small business. If I could stay at home I wouldn't have to worry on which night I stay up late to make up for lost time! Having the money tree, oh ya!
I would put an electric fence around it for safe keeping. Just think, if you didn't have to worry about paying your bills and being short on money you may not get gray hair as quick! I would still be making money besides the money tree so I wouldn't lose the value of the dollar... I would still work, but not have a job, I'd be self-employed. I would still work. What is life without work?
Work is about far more than earning money, its about personal satisfcation, and the feeling that you've contributed something to society by your labor, about creative fulfillment, about feeling worthy of the things that work normally earns for you, your home, possessions, car, clothing, groceries... Jim Carrey said once recently, that he wished everyone would get exactly what they wanted, then they'd see that that's not the answer. And I think he meant by that that even when we have all the money we need, we still need to get up every day and feel like our life has a purpose, and that we have something to go do that people depend on us for... --------------------------------------------------- Also, you have to consider the fact that endlessly depositing large amounts of cash into a bank account begins to look suspicious... --------------------------------------------------- I have nothing wrong with being rich. Don't get misread what I'm saying.
But true wealth is far more than just money, its: enjoying your life enjoying your work, your hobbies, your relationships, your culture...so that you bring value and growth to society in general...as well as to yourself. Sources: personal opinion .
