If you had the opportunity to know when and how you are going to die, would you want to know?

Good question. I wouldn't want to know. This is why.

Ironically, knowing your death date would restrict your life's choices, motivation, and everything else. Knowing you are going to die at an old age would be akin to being able to live forever. You would say, "Oh well, I'm living until I'm 99, so I have plenty of time to do that..." Knowing you are going to die at a young age has a similar effect: "Why should I bother, I'm dying in a few years at 35."

Or, conversely, "OMG, I only have 3 years left, I have to do this that or that. " A positive response to knowing an imminent, young death, would be "I'm going to cherish every moment because I haven't got much time left..." This is how people act when they have a terminal illness, and, that attitude sometimes allows them to heal anyway and they cherish every moment after that, even without the death sentence. Actually, you know what.

I changed my mind. I would want to know, only if I was dying young. That way, I would be able to have that attitude, and my 30 or whatever years could be better than someone else's 99 years.

Not only that, but also I wouldn't have to OCD about diseases and dumb stuff like washing my hands. Part of being productive and appreciative in life is not knowing how much time you have. Knowing you were going to die young would only enhance that (hopefully more so in the appreciation area) and would also make you stop obsessing about diseases (which some people do).

It would be liberating if you had the right attitude. If you knew you were going to die old, it could also be liberating, but I think it would make you take your years for granted and you wouldn't be as appreciative, productive, and happy. I think being able to live forever would make life pointless.

Ironically, death is the one thing that gives life any meaning, the final unknown exam after a lifetime of study and observation. No one really knows how to pass when they pass (this exam).

No, I would not want to know. I would just live my remaining days in fear. I would not be able to do anything knowing this kind of infomation.

Yes, because I would know what andd when and how much time I have left!

Of course not, if you were to know how you'd die then all that would bring is sadness, cause all you could think about is how your going to die. It would leech the joy out of your life D.

Definitely not! I know that if I had that kind of information it would impact decisions I make everyday - whether the date of my demise was near or far in the future. Part of what makes us human is our mortality, and I feel that if I knew the details of my end, I wouldn't feel as much or as deeply about things as I currently do.

I much prefer to live everyday as if it could be my last, but still planning for the future. That gives me the best of both worlds - enjoyment in every moment, and the security of knowing I've prepared myself for what may come.

I would not want to know. I think that there are some things in this life that we are not meant to know for a reason. I think that there would be a lot of scared people (me included) with anxiety knowing it's coming.

I would not be able to focus on important things day to day because I would be too worried. For example. "did I do enough?

I need to work more, to get more money to go on that cruise.." I would probably become more selfish in a way because instead of worrying about my friends and family, I might without trying focus only on myself. So, no I would not want to know. Especially if there is nothing I can do about it.It would do more harm than good.

"Unfair" is a bit of a misnomer, because everyone has the opportunity to become educated. But in the real world, so few people invest the time and effort to learn about money and business, that those who do seem to operate with an unfair advantage. Chaos in the commercial lending markets means lots of problems for business borrowers.

But it also means lots of opportunity for smart and bold entrepreneurs. When a market is wounded, creative entrepreneurs come out like white corpuscles to work on the debt.
