I am somewhat of a loner and find that I truly enjoy all the time I have to myself. In this case, I think I would take solitary confinement over spending time with a robot, if that robot resembled the functions and characteristics of another human being too closely. If however, that robot were simply a computer that could be used for my personal purposes (for instance, it could be used to go online), then yes, I would welcome the opportunity to have some extra entertainment while locked up in a dark prison cell.
However, I never welcomed the prospect of having a room mate or two during class trips back in high school and I found out the hard way that I just cannot successfully enter into a joint living arrangement with another person (who is not my partner)and so I would not want to have anyone else in the prison cell with me. I am okay with meeting a person in an neighboring cell and possibly creating a friendship while in prison, but I would still prefer to remain in the cell alone and have my peace while I sleep or use the bathroom. I also do not like having to share a living space or having to decide over who gets to use what when.
These are just not fun things to do while in prison.
Lol well...if that robot could talk to me or respond somewhat to what I would say, then sure I'll take him. If all it did was beep, I'd rather be alone and go crazy, then go crazy because of torture. I can't even imagine if I was in prison, in a cell, and some robot was beeping and lighting up.
I swear that would put me in the physche ward.
I would love to have a robot companion. I think I am anthropomorphic enough that I would be fine with a robot friend. I would like to have one and I am not even in prison.
The robot is better than solitary confinement any day. I will quickly lose my mind spending time without talking to anyone. People need to talk to someone, or something.
Like in the Castaway movie where Tom Hanks chose a volleyball as his "companion". People talk to their stuffed toys anytime, so I might be able to talk to the robot like that. And if the robot annoys me, well, I'll just smash it to pieces.
A good catharsis if nothing else. Lol.
I would take the robot. No matter what you could talk to it. People who spend to much time in solitary lose their minds and then become violently crazy.
People need some type of human contact to survive even if it's negative contact.
That would depend on who had control of the robot. If I had control, I'd choose the robot. Otherwise, I would probably rather be alone rather than take the chance of being vulnerable to an unknown person having complete control over my surroundings with no personal interaction.
I can imagine someone with a controller watching on the screen as the robot beats me over the head while I'm sleeping. I don't want to be the victim of a video game.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
