You make a good point that current policy is pretty disrespectful to those who do it legally. However, as long as US elections are funded by business interests and cost, in some cases, tens of millions of dollars the politicians will turn a blind eye to the corporate desire for cheap exploitable labor (even though the US tax payers are subsidizing the extra profits these companies make by hiring illegally). In California specifically the cause is even more insidious because within the state legislature there are those so radical on this issue that they'd erase the southern border entirely if they could.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
