I'm 18 years old and interested in joining the Air Force as a chef/food service specialist. Any information would help. I know joining the AF is a HUGE decision, and that's why I'm having a hard time.
College? Or AF? These are the questions that are on my mind constantly (that's why I'm up and can't sleep right now).
The problem with college is that it's so expensive, and I don't want to be in debt by the time I'm 22-23. The AF would eliminate that problem and also ensure my future family with some financial stability; which is important to me. FACTS: I love to cook, I love to travel, and I want to be stable.

Cooking in a pit in the sands of Pakistan near the caves of AlQeida with exploding terrorists is no fun. Make sure you are fully aware of what expects you there, so you are not forever traumatized.
I don't think that's what I'd be doing in the AF, but thanks! Definitely something to consider. Askville1992 15 months ago .
Go to a recruiting office and get some information. If I were you I would try the Air Force or Navy and you might want to try the Coast Guard too. See if they have any programs to help pay for college and when your talking to the Air Force make sure that they know that you are considering the Navy and Coast Guard, you might as well play them against each other.
Also, if you love to cook, instead of going to college you might want to look at a cooking school. I know they cost a lot of money but they are nowhere near what it would cost to go to college.
Thank you, I'm going to go speak with a recruiter to get more information, and see if this is the right choice for me. THANKS! Askville1992 15 months ago .
Air Force bases usually have good facilities and that includes mess. It is the Army and Marines tht cook out of tents and fox holes if you mean MRE's. On the other hand, the Navy has good chow.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
