ACUs are off the rack and come in standard sizes. ASUs are tailored for pant hem and waist and jacket cuff. If you want any further tailoring, you will have to get it done after basic and pay for it yourself (I'm a female and to get my ASU blouse to fit right, I have to get it tailored, which costs about $25 per blouse).
You will be issued ACUs, ASUs and PTs for clothing and a camelback for drinking, which you will keep. You will be issued basic gear like a rucksack and IBA/IOTV for training, which you will return at the end of basic. You will sign out a weapon (usually M-16 in basic) after the first week or two, and you will take it everywhere with you until the last week when you turn it back in.
Off the rack and maybe you get trouser cuffs and sleeves shortened, etc. Most people fit in standard sized coats and trousers for service uniforms. Are your weird sized?
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
