I understand your urge to just hurry up and get to the last two, but STOP. BREATHE. And open up the gosh darn second book.
The movies tried to get the general feel of the books, but not only do they fall short of the original wonder that is found in the pages of these books, but they also omit/skew a tremendous amount of important information no, really - most of the fans are scratching our heads right now, trying to figure out how on earth they are going to fix all the previous screw-ups in time for the last movie. Think of it like this - if you took the Wright Brothers away from what they knew in the years they spent working on creating the first airplane, and brought them to the present day, and asked them to fly a Boeing 747, do you think they'd know how? No, because they would have missed out on all the technological advancements in between, leaving them utterly clueless.
That will be you if you dive right into the last two books. Please, don't try to fly that plane. It will end badly.
You'll get the gist of it, like people that only watch the movies but never read the books, but you'll be confused in some parts, the books go in much greater detail, and you get to know the character's thoughts and behavior better. I strongly recommend reading the whole series. Especially for the last book, a lot of things are related to the other books that weren't even mentioned in the movies.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
