I'm thinking of buying a pool in Northern NJ. What are the pros & cons of inground vs above ground in terms of heating, Difference between above ground and in ground pool in terms of heating, maintenance, cost, etc. Any tips in general? Is there any way (eg an enclosure) that allows swimming in the winter too?

If you live in a northern climate that freezes, it is better to have an above ground pool. In my opinion, if you live in a northern climate that freezes in the winter it is best in the long run for you to have an above ground pool. As anyone who lives through winter on a yearly basis, concrete can quite quickly be torn apart by cold weather.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
