I'm trying to lose 10 lbs, and I've been at a plateau for 2 weeks (while staying on my lo-cal diet). Any suggestions? My goal was to lose 15 lbs, and I've already lost 5 pounds and have maintained that weight.
I'm a very small person, so 5-10 lbs makes a huge difference (whereas my husband fluctuates 5-10 lbs a day! ). I'm fairly active, and I don't think that I can cut any more calories out of my diet without cutting out entire meals.
I just need something to get me over this rut! Asked by Zewespil 52 months ago Similar questions: lose 10 lbs plateau weeks staying lo cal diet suggestions Health > Fitness & Diet.

EAT MORE! Yup, eat more. You might gain a tiny bit, but most likely you won't... See if you can up your cals and stay at the same weight... do this for a while and your body will again get used to your calorie intake.
If you can manage, sit at this weight for a bit and then lower your calories again after a few weeks at this weight. As a note, how many calories are you eating? Hopefully you're not eating below 1200.
Either way you might well have put your body into starvation mode. As for the activity... what are you doing? Are you doing the same cardio exercises?
Try switching it up or adding weights. Depending on your body you can adjust quite quickly to cardio to the point where you are burning very little.
Don't focus on weight loss or else you'll find it again! Always remember that muscle weighs twice as much as fat. Therefore, if you’re doing a great job exercising on a regular basis, you could actually gain weight!
If you’re limiting calories, your body’s metabolism may shift downward and start to burn at a slower rate. The focus should not be on weight loss, it should be on gaining health! Throw away your scale, and look to your clothes closet instead to get the feedback you need that you're on the right track.
Creating a health supportive lifestyle that includes physical activity, stress reduction and most importantly, good food. Keep in mind the non-caloric factors that lead to poor health can also lead to weight gain. Stress can cause you to gain weight.
Not enough sleep can also result in weight gain. Lots of water, not diet soda. Artificial sweeteners have led to weight gain ( along with incredible sweet cravings) in some people.
Strive for balance in all of these areas and your excess weight will melt off slowly over time! Speaking of speed, slow is the way to go. You don’t want to do the yo yo diet deal!
Each one of us is different....biochemical individuality is the reason. Find what works for you and stick with it. One foot in front of the other, day after day.

The body will protect itself from starvation..........sad but true. Also sometimes it just takes longer for certain people to lose weight due to metabolism & age. Just remember..............its not how fast the weight comes off....its how long you can keep it off Sources: Lost 211 lbs.(by myself) & have kept it off 25 years .
South Beach Diet phase 1 My husband has had great success with the south beach (he was on it twice) and I actually did it for a short while to fit in a bridesmaid dress that arrived to the store way too small. Like you my husband and myself are not fat but we wanted to trim down. Phase 1 (two weeks) will work if you stick to it.
Here’s the general overview of this diet southbeachdiet.com/index3.asp I am not sure if you heard anything about this diet, but the first two weeks are very similar to detox. South Beach Diet Phase 1 South Beach Diet Phase 1 lasts for two weeks. During this first phase, you will eat normal meals of chicken, beef, turkey, fish, and shellfish, lots of vegetables, eggs, cheese, nuts, and garden salads using 100% olive oil for your salad dressing.
Each day for 14 days, you will eat three, well-balanced meals. While eating until your hunger is satisfied may go against most diets, with the South Beach Diet, it is part of the plan. Trying to lose weight and become healthy by depriving the body of food makes no sense. In addition to the three meals each day, you will also eat a snack between breakfast and lunch, and then again between lunch and dinner.
Even if you do not feel like eating these snacks, for the South Beach Diet to work, you need to, and after dinner, you will even have dessert. Additionally, during this phase, you can drink all the coffee and tea you want and be sure to drink lots of water. You may be thinking that this is a lot of food - it is!
With most diets, you deprive your body, eating only small portions of foods that are unappealing. The change you will make during this phase is that you will cut out all bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, baked goods, fruit, candy, cake, cookies, ice cream, or sugar. Keep in mind that these eliminated foods will be added back into your diet, starting in Phase 2.
In addition to taking these foods out of your diet temporarily, you will also need to avoid beer, or any kind of alcohol. Once you start Phase 2, reasonable amounts of wine can be added back in. Instead of feeling overwhelmed about the foods that will be taken out of your diet during the first two weeks, stop and think about this for a minute.
To achieve a life of health and lose unwanted weight, two weeks is a small investment to make. After all, you are worth it! The first two or three days will be somewhat challenging, but breaking any bad habit starts out a little bumpy.
Once you pass this small hurdle, the rest of the time will go by quicker than you think. When you see the results that these changes bring, you will be glad you did not give up! Here is a list of foods you can east and a sample of breakfasts, lunches and dinners from phase 1 http://www.southbeach-diet-plan.com/shoppinglist_p1.htm So if you need help with those last few pounds that you can’t get off I suggest the south beach plan and of course exercise!

Make sure that you are eating enough calories. If you eat too little it is harder to lose weight. I have been faithfully following my Weight Watchers plan, and one thing I am having trouble doing somedays is eating "enough" because I want to lose the weight.
But that is one thing that they always tell us. You have to be sure to eat what your body requires. If you don’t get enough calories in, your body goes in to "starvation mode" and protects itself because it is unable to tell the difference.
I find that when I follow my plan and eat what I am supposed to as opposed to LESS, I lose MORE. The plan is lo-cal, but not deprivation or starvation. So, I wouldn’t recommend cutting out meals, maybe a little more calories are what you need to boost your metabolism.
I’m not talking about overeating or high calorie foods, but eating healthy, well planned meals and snacks and stopping when you are full. Be sure to include foods from all the different food groups. Be sure to include some good "fat" in your diet, too. It’s important for good health.
It may help to write down what you eat, sometimes we forget how much or what we eat. And it provides a reminder for what works for us in our weightloss journey. Also, you need to drink plenty of water, at least 6-8 glasses a day.
Since we are composed of so much water, it is necessary to flush your system and keep your body working right. It also helps to fill you up and it easily becomes a habit. Best of luck in reaching your goal!

A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
