In 2006 why did Obama say "raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure"?

LOL in all of the news coverage of the debt limit talks I've watched recently, Obama has been slammed left and right for this. Recently, Obama acknowledged that this was a HUGE mistake "...an example of a young senator making a political decision" in his own words. I'm pretty sure there's a lot of animosity surrounding the fact that Obama is calling for debt limit help when he tried to screw Bush over.

However the hypocrisy works both ways..the Republicans would be hypocrites if they voted against raising the ceiling now when they did it under Bush. Economics is not a science so you can never really tell what the right stance is... but in my opinion, it scares and saddens me to see the future of this country take a back seat to political games.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
