A famous - in this part of the world (Northwest England) - ghost story invovled a group of workmen who were repairing (replacing brickwork - re-lining) a sewer that ran under a street in Chester: which archaeologists now believe to have once been the site of a roman super fortress. As they worked a squad (platoon whatever) of roman soldiers emerged from through a wall at one end of the sewer tunnel, marched along the line of the tunnel upon which the men were working, and then disappeared through a wall at the other end. All of the men attested to this and reported that the roman soldiers had only been visible above the knee (the sewer had been drained to facilitate the work) with their lower limbs seemingly buried - although still moving - below the brickwork of the cylindrical tunnel. It was later discovered that there was, indeed, a roman road running under the line of this Victorian built sewer tunnel.
The point here is that none of these roman soldiers were reported to be wearing white coats, robes or dresses.
Well Jason, that's an interesting question, I don't have an answer, and to be honest, it's never occurred to me. If I get time over the weekend I'll have to look up the folklore of ghosts.
I believe that ghosts use alot of energy to manifest so they probaly have a white aura around them. However, there has been reports of some of them dressed in dark clothing. When I saw my great grandma she was wearing white also.
I can not say why they wear white but many do I have seen them many times but then I also saw a ghost who was dressed as a vampire, I saw him plain as day red bow tie white shirt long black cape, I was so scared I tried to scream and nothing would come out my mouth.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
