I don't think Romney is any more a real Mormon than GW Bush was a real Christian. His family is Mormon. Like most people of any religion, he writes 'Mormon' in the box on forms preceded by 'Religion:' Nobody really hates Mormons except fundamentalist Christians, who hate -any- religion that isn't theirs.
And not even all fundies hate Mormons. I do agree some of the things I've heard say that Mormons believe sound pretty kooky to me, but those beliefs don't really count for much. All the Mormons I actually know are pretty good people.
Unfortunately (for the Party and the country as well) The Christan Right is a very vocal minority that sets the tone for the discussion, so many well-meaning Christians will vote against Romney without even understanding really why they're doing it. But Romney is still the favorite, for two reasons. (1) He's the only one of the candidates this year who obviously desperately wants to be president, and who really believes he CAN be president.
And (2) All the other major Republicans are flaming out. Gingrich, Bachmann, Perry and Cain, in that order, all had their chance at 'leader' and they all blew it big-time. I agree that Romney can't win.
But as a 'moderate' (read: RINO) he may have the widest support nationwide. The Tea Party hard-liners are running the GOP over a cliff. Romney's likely their best bet.
This "C." person just has a chip on her shoulder against Mormons... Get over it "C." Any who, you need to not believe everything you hear and do a little research like an intelligent person. Vote for someone that will fix America, no matter their religion.
You may be right, but I think winning Iowa caucuses is not enough, because they are based on pulling power, money, and motivation of a voter to come out and spend time. For his/her candidate. It's logical that Romney will win in NH, because it's close to his old state Mass.
However in the rest of the country, since the ultra " populist " cons like Michelle, Perry, and Newt may kill each other, and the GOP could end up with Ron Paul as the candidate, particularly if he can deal successfully with the issue of his old bulletins. Ron Paul is the least evil of the GOP crew so his winning, but just the nomination wouldn't be such would not be such a bad thing. Most likely he would force Obama to clean up his act regarding foreign policy and civil liberties.
So it's still in flux Hope this calls.
Barring some sort of distrous scandal, yes. He will win the nomination, if wins both iowa or NH In fact, he just needs to do very well in Iowa, a strong second place showing will pretty much secure him the nomination as well he has NH locked up.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
