In need of some fundraising ideas to sponser her bike ride from cornwall to paris? any ideas?

Cornwall is known for ice cream and Paris is known for croissants. Is there something you could do with that? Maybe have a Bring Your Own Cornish Icecream and Croissant party and do a raffle for the person who can eat the most croissants in under a minute.

You could also ask your local supermarket/bakery to provide some of the icecream/croissants.

Just like the Canadian Forces recruiters who tell would-be sub-mariners life is so tough on a submarine they wouldn’t be able to stand the lifestyle, I believe some riders are attracted to our annual adventure by the hardship. The toughest day on this year’s tour will be the climb out of Radium Hot Springs and then later over the Rocky Mountain Great Divide. That’s on the third stage of our ride that will see us leave Fernie June 16 and head home through Kimberley, Radium, Lake Louise, Rocky Mountain House and Pigeon Lake.

€œTotal distance from Radium to Lake Louise is 132 kilometres,” said Allan Mayer, our route planner and former Journal editor-in-chief. €œIt includes a 12-kilometre push up the Sinclair Canyon as we leave Radium. The elevation gain on that stretch is about 630 metres on slopes that Tour de France riders would see their heart rates rise significantly.

Total elevation gain on the day is 1,542 metres. Mayer will lead training rides as soon as the snow goes and I’m sure everyone in our party will finish the seven-stage journey on June 23. If it appeals to you, please email me.

A couple of friends joining the group and training now are Jan Novotny, general manger manager of the Derrick Golf and Winter Club, and Don Agnew, president and project manager of Rescom Inc. In the last two years alone, our ride has raised $530,000 and we hope to push it over the $2 million mark since its lowly beginnings 11 years ago. General Recycling is again our presenting sponsor and United Cycle is lending us a huge bike trailer and a mechanic with spare parts and bikes.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
