It's definitely strange, and you should inform your parents and the regular teacher as to what happened. I was a substitute teacher for years before becoming a full-fledged one, and if the class did an exceptionally outstanding job, I would leave a note for the regular teacher stating that the kids should be rewarded. It's his (or her) job to do that.

Even if there was a kid in the class who was extraordinarily awful in his behavior when I was subbing, I would leave a note for the teacher saying so regarding that one kid, and leave the discipline to him. Maybe the only times I would call home as a sub was is if I was doing a long-term subbing job, say for three or more weeks, in which case the office would give me the class list of phone numbers if I asked. In that case, it might be acceptable, but here?

It looks suspicious. Also, your solution was a good example of quick thinking. Had that happened to me, I would have done exactly the same thing you did and given him a false number.

It is actually too bad that you didn't give him the real number, because then you could know if he was sincere about this. Obviously, there is nothing wrong with his calling your parents to them them you did a great job. And, since he made it clear this was so that he could call your parents, he probably isn't some kind of pedophile trying to contact students outside of school.

The reason I'm kind of sorry you didn't give him the real number is that then you would know if he really wanted to praise you to your parents (unusual. But not in any way harmful) or if he was looking for sales leads for some other job he has on the side, which certainly should be reported. You could certainly tell someone (maybe your regular teacher) about this, so that they can follow up.

He may have had the best of intentions; you just never know.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
