In what year was the first original Mercedes vehicle created? What gave them their name for business?

Cool question! I'll try to help you out as best I can. The name Mercedes comes from a little girl actually.

Emil Jellinek, a coustomer of the founders of what we now call Mercedes-Benz, took part in a race driving one of their cars and won. S daughter's name was Mercedes and the founders took that name in 1898. I should probably talk about the founders of the company too :).

Well, there was Gottlieb Daimler and Karl Benz who both expressed genuis in the motor industry. I mean, in 1886, Benz built a motor-operated tricycle. Given, he was 40 years old, but it's a cool start.

The two of them entered the same competitions and got into racing, Daimler always beating out Benz. In 1924 the two companies finally merged.

One of the company's first and classic cars was the Mercedes-Benz 770 Grosser in 1930.

If you look, there are similarities in appearance between this and the Ford Model T. But other than that, I can find nothing in terms of other similarities to competitors.
