I know, it is a matter of respect, but even though he is a president, but he is no better than anyone else. I'm not knocking him, just curious. Asked by TessieJo 17 months ago Similar questions: opinion Obama big baby happened free speech Politics & Law > Politics.

I guess By the rules of the Military I assume McChristal should have kept his mouth shut. I am sure many more in the military feel the same way he does but know better than to voice it to a Liberal rag like Rolling Stone. He had the right to get rid of the General I guess but the funny part is who he picked for his replacement.
This is the same General that Obama practically called a liar to his face for saying the Iraq War was going well. Yes, the President is very thin skinned and you do not have to be a rocket scientist to see that. He can not take criticism and he usually gets even in a sneaky way.
S Askville defenders will back him no matter what he does so anything having to do with Obama is like banging your head against a brick wall. The only relief we will get will be in 2012 when he will be bye bye.
I have very mixes feelings on this. I think that it is destructive for the head general to publicly disrespect the Commander in Chief, especially in war time. At the same time, I am horrified that we have such an inexperienced Commander in Chief who is so anti-military.In light of that, I am not surprised that our military leaders are frustrated and angry.
McChrystal did not get the number of troops he asked for. He told Obama that he needed a minimum number to avoid defeat. Obama stalled in even giving an answer.
He was too busy with health care at the time. Finally, he responded by giving McChrystal significantly fewer troops than he said he had to have to avoid defeat. On the other hand, the general voted for Obama and supported him publicly during the election, so he got what he asked for.
Yes, he is a big baby trying to eliminate freedom of speech! .
The UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) makes it a court martialable offense to speak ill/disrespect those in your chain of command. And the president is the Commander in Chief, aka the top dog, of the military. McChrystal should be happy he was allowed to resign and not brought up on charges.
In most corporations, if you bad mouth the CEO, you're subject to discipline, including termination; it's the same thing with the military, except it could include fines, demotion and jail time for the officer.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
