In your opinion, what is the best audio recording software available?

I'm an amateur songwriter and guitarist. Up until now, Garage Band on the Mac has been OK (not great) for my needs. Now I'm looking for an audio recording suite with more control and the ability to accept more incoming instruments and audio sources simultaneously.

I'm not really sold on a Mac-only solution, I want the best solution, be that a PC or Mac setup. Also, if you've had any success with peripheral devices I'd love to hear which ones. I currently only have a USB FastTrack device by MAudio for audio in from my electric guitar and mic.

Audacity I have been using it for quite a while and I am happy with it. However I have a PC but it works with Mac computers also. Just download it from here.

Make sure to download both Audacity and LAME MP3 Encoder. Install Audacity. Make sure you know where you save the "LAME MP3 Encoder" file because when you want to export your audio file as mp3 for the first time, Audacity asks you to locate "LAME MP3 Encoder" file.

Working with Audacity is really easy. You may record from microphone or from your PC. Hope this helps!

Pro-tools most likely. I don't believe in the 'Mac-only' b.s. I use a PC and I love it.

My good friend got the M-Audio Pro-tools which is a lot cheaper than the regular Protools and you get great flexibility and control! You'll need an M-Audio box, but it's worth it! Then you can expand with plug-ins and programs like Reason.

I actually use Sony's Vegas, which I love! You can use it for video and audio as well as has surround sound capabilities. It's an extremely powerful and useful software package, but more pricey than the M-Audio version of Protools.

A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
