Intel core 2 duo 1.8ghz better than intel pentium d 1.8ghz?

You need to find out how many watts your power supply has, video cards will vary a lot in power usage. Also it would help to know what video card you do have so we can make sure our suggestion is helpful. But taking a wild guess, the GTX 750 is a good low power card that could do anything you wanted it to, then going even lower power usage the GT 730 and GT 720 work pretty good.

I'm just suggesting those because you didn't say what your power supply was though. (They're still faster than the video card I have). Whatever card you get you can always use it in your next computer, so I would try to get the best one you can afford then re-use it.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
