You will need to use a third party library for that. The SDK doesn't allow you to send emails in the background.
This is an old question, but for anyone coming across it still you can take a look at this post. The accepted answer shows how to send the email in a background using a smtp server. It also includes an image that will "dim" the screen as the email is sent and "brighten" back up after the email is sent.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
