I just returned from Milan, Italy where I purchased a "Valentino" bag in a litle shop for about 65 Euro. I asked the woman if the bag was authentic and she said, "Yes, it's a Valentino. " When I got home I did some research on the internet.
Apparently the bag is a real Mario Valentino, which is NOT the same as the famous Italian couture fashion designer Valentino Garavani. From what I can tell, Mario Valentino established his brand first, which specializes in leather goods. Both designers use the name Valentino.
When I closely inspected my bag I see that the tags have VALENTINO in bold print and Mario in small print. Mario Valentino seems to be a very reputable company more well-known in Italy than in the US. Even though I wrongly assumed and purchased my bag believing that it was a "real Valentino" I am still happy with it.It's unique and not many people in the States will have it.
Plus it will always remind me of my time in Italy. I hope you enjoy your bag as well!
Unfortunately, Mario Valentino is not as pricey....Here is a link for you to see prices online: shopstyle.com/browse/Mario-Valentino Valerie.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
