Is Aberrant Behavior Rowland's Best Excuse?

February 2, 2005 Michele Jacklin Dear Judge Dorsey: The cat's out of the bag. By now, just about everyone in Connecticut knows that John Rowland's lawyer is seeking testimonial letters on his client's behalf. I'm kind of bummed out that I didn't get a call or an e-mail solicitation.

But that's not the reason for this letter, Judge Dorsey. To be fair, I haven't exactly been one of the ex-guv's biggest boosters over the years. No, the reason I'm writing has to do with a line in The Courant's Jan. 27 news story noting that the e-mail solicitation was distributed by Rowland's sentencing consultant, Francesca D.

Now, I realize that consulting is one of this country's fastest-growing cottage industries and that consultants are paid big money to advise officialdom on everything from where to build convention centers to what food groups are essential for healthy living. But judges and probation workers are smart people.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
