Sexist double standards by lawmakers. (don't forget the feminists).
Alcoholically speaking, both men and women do become impaired under the influence of alcohol and both are equally responsible for the choices that they've made. Claiming date rape is an easy way out for those women who continues to live in denial about their bad sexual behaviour when impaired.. Impaired judgement affects the man as well as the woman and he is no different when it comes to being drunk and engaging in bad sexual behaviour. The consequences are the same for a man or a woman who have chosen to have sex while under the influence."Be mature about it.
No one ever asks or deserves to be raped period, regardless of how drunk they are. If a man is drunk and commits rape, then yes it should be taken into account, but he is still responsible for harming another, the act of being raped does not harm another, it harms the victim. Being drunk does not excuse you from hitting another person, but if you are drunk and get hit, you are still a victim, regardless of how drunk you are.
Trying to equate a rape victim who may eb drunk with the rapist is pretty low. Drunk drivers who kill people still have to face court for their behaviour and we do not blame someone for being run over even if they are drunk. So why blame a rape victim?
Because it's impossible or at least impractical, to determine that 2 people are equally drunk. If you ever had sex, you would know what kind of physical hurdles are involved in having involuntary heterosexual sex with a male. If a man made such a claim to authorities and was not taken seriously I would hope he would get a lawyer and sue.
Sue the woman, the cops and the DA.
Its more sexist but I think its because of the fact that if a woman is drunk or not she's more likely to be weaker and the guy should have known better in the first place to take advantage of a drunk woman, BUT, because of the fact that more women today lie about being tooken advantage of, they do it because they regret what they did. Its wrong and sexist.
Every glass of alcohol increases someones intention to engage in unsafe sex, according to researchers of the Toronto University. The present research was based on an analyses of 12 studies that tested this cause-and-effect relationship in a systematic way. Results show that alcohol use is an independent risk factor for intentions to engage in unsafe sex.
Alcohol affects decision-making, and this impact rises with the amount of alcohol consumed. According to the researchers, these results also help explain why people at risk often show this behaviour despite better knowledge: alcohol is influencing their decision processes. So I guess that we are both the same...
Men cannot use being drunk as an excuse for bad sexual behavior because if they are drunk enough to be impaired, they are generally unable to perform. Women, on the other hand, can fake it while drunk and a guy couldn't tell the difference. I didn't believe this either, but it came out in a trial where I was a juror.
We ended up having to convict the guy for ATTEMPTED rape because he tried but his ... anatomy ... was not cooperating.
Society says women are more vulnerable, and I would have to agree. And the likelihood of a man claiming date rape is slim. Additionally alcohol does not completely impair your judgment. No means no.
Because men already use it as an excuse for beating their kids and/or wife.
That is a matter of social policy, not god's law.
NO means NO what part of that don't you get...drunk or not!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
