I agree. This is like the NINTH hearing on Benghazi. Where were the hearings for the 13 people that died in attacks on embassies during the Bush administration...never mind the 3000 citizens that died on American soil on their watch.
First of all, I think most Americans know that if you take a job in Libya, there is a certain amount of risk involved. It's not exactly shocking that a mob attacked the embassy/ consulate. Unfortunate of course and clearly issues of security have been brought up.
I just don't understand what the whole "cover-up" that they keep talking about. I assume it's because the state department said it was spontaneous mob protest before they said it was a planned attack. Who cares?
The issue is still the same..not enough security. If you watch Fox News, 99% of the commentary is "Well, what if..." because they have no proof that there was a cover up. Most of their "news" commentary has been hypothetical scenarios.
The Fox News sheepies just lap it up and could care less. Then they wonder why no one is outraged! It's probably because most of the world lives in reality....not the right wing bubble.
If the Republicans want to act appalled that there wasn't enough security then why didn't they vote for the funding to upgrade the security? Congress holds the purse strings..and they decided that they didn't want to invest in the safety of foreign workers. If they want to point fingers, they need to walk over to a mirror and start there.
Benghazi is a million times worse than Watergate. Maybe you are too young to remember or are not up on your history, but no one DIED in Watergate. Hope that helps.
@Woody - When you run with the oldies here you must know your history and do your homework or you get called out. Please see the link I have provided showing Chris Stevens being dragged through the streets of Benghazi after he was killed. CAUTION IT IS GRAPHIC!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
