Is diary of a wimpy kid age appropriate for a 6 year old?

Well appropriateness varies greatly! LOL! My 9 year loves it and reads excerpts of it to my 5 year old who laughs at the humor of it.

I think if your kids basically have the rules of right and wrong kinda worked out the "misbehavior" of the characters will just be something they laugh about not imitate. Good luck and wish me some too I'm bringing both of my boys to the movie Friday. My answer may change if they act out after that!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
