YUP! As one general once put it, and was promptly fired for it, "terrorism can be managed, but will never be stopped"! .

Never! BTW--Both our "friends" and enemies pay bountys of $20,000 to familys of terroists.. There is no shortage of familys in poor countries that will offer up the runt of the litter..

With the end of the cold war, certain people in our country with ecconomic interests in what Republican President Dwight Eisenhower warned us about on January 17, 1961 ("we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. "), looked for another specter to keep fear alive so that they could continue to manipulate the public. With the events of 9/11, they had found it.

Rhine44's answer: "The end always justifies the means. Sorry to sound glib, but it happens to be the truth. Better to stand up against terrorism than accept it on bended knees." it true only if one is immoral.

The end never justifies the means when it requires that we become the same kind of people as those we struggle to defend ourselves from.

(is true only ..., not it true only ...) The mind set, prevalent in the medical communty as well as in government (city, state and federal), that would have us treat symptoms rather than causes of undesirable conditions, is a significant reason many human problems appear intractable.

That's the best way I've ever seen it put. I'm going to have to steal that one and use it elsewhere. Thanks!

The end always justifies the means. Sorry to sound glib, but it happens to be the truth. Better to stand up against terrorism than accept it on bended knees.

" "Was the Cold War an actual war with weapons and fighting?" "EVERYONE! **A real view on the War in Iraq on Terrorism/America. What do you think? " "If Jesus was here, what would he say or think about this Iraq war?

Just? Evil? Needed?

Your opinion please.." "If you could have lived through any war in history (without fighting in it)which one would it be?

EVERYONE! **A real view on the War in Iraq on Terrorism/America. What do you think?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
