I understand your concern, but it is largely misplaced. I suggest you start by getting educated about HIV and how it is and isn't tramsmitted. HIV is not transmitted in normal domestic activities- it is spread though sex and needle/syringe sharing.

Genital herpes is really only spread by direct contact with the infected area, usually during an outbreak. Your daughter is not going to catch it. He does not have AIDS if he can look after himself and is in reasonable health.

He has HIV. AIDS is the end stage of untreated HIV, and if he had it, he'd be in hospital and on his way out of this world. Honestly, he's the guy with an immunosuppressive illness-- you and your family are much more of a danger to him than he is to you.

Now, having said all that, if you don't have a spare room, I don't see how you can realistically take on a housemate. Why is this such a drama when you could just say sorry, but we just don't have the space?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
