Usually, no, but it depends on the specific store and what's in stock. The Hot Topic near where I live sells a variety of quirky merchandise, such as video game T-shirts, products with references to the 90's (for example, 90's cartoons. Doug, Rocko's Modern Life, etc.), and merchandise of what's popular (such as Alice in Wonderland and Lady Gaga).
Although a major part of HT's merchandise is for the alternative demographic, there are also many interesting items which appeal to the Average Joe.
They mostly sell that type of clothing- but there are also a shirts for rocker type people- or hippie-chic. They carry a lot of band T-shirts. I tend to shop at pac sun, macys, and guess, and I have purchased clothes now and again from Hot Topic, and I definatly wouldn't consider myself goth, emo or scene.
Depending on my mood I tend to wear beachy, or a put together classic look. But the majority of the clothes I would consider emo/goth/scene.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
