It's not worth it, and here is why. An original Floyd is around $200 (after shipping/taxes). You can get a decent used double locking tremolo for around $100 or so.
The labor on installing a double locking tremolo is the killer. $100 is way off for labor. It would be around $200-$300 for the install.
Consider, both the front of the guitar and the back of the guitar have to get routed. The nut needs to be removed and replace with a locking nut. The entire system needs to be installed as well as the nut and the finishing touches.
To have a good system installed in your guitar and the labor, you are looking at around $400-$500. This makes sense if you NEED a Floyd and you are right (like a rock star) and insist on having it in your Les Paul or something. But for a $400-$500 price tag, just get a guitar with the Floyd already installed from the factory.
Considering your guitar isn't made for a trem bridge, it would probably cost less to go buy a new guitar. And even if it doesn't cost that much, it'll probably screw up your tone completely. If you're feeling particularly attached to your guitar, I wouldn't suggest doing it.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
