Being proud and gloating are similar but not the same. We can be proud but not do it or show it at the expense of others. Gloating connotes boasting.
Boasting will not make many friends for you. Remember that you can always choose how you act but you cannot choose how others will react to you. "Toot your own horn but only if you know how to play the darn thing.
Sure we should all be proud of who we are and what we accomplish, but announcing it and rubbing it in other peoples faces is just.. well it is annoying. No one really cares = ) Do you care how successfull someone you don't know is? If he sat you down and told you what hes accomplished... would you really care?
I've let go of "good" and "bad" long ago... I think "gloat" has a more out-of-balanced connotation. Being proud of what you do is important. Telling others of your accomplishments is important (especially to get support and continuing encouragement from the people around you)... but, taken too far (to the point of "gloating"), I'd wonder about the function/use.It all comes down to what the function of your behavior is.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
